He lived to be 96 years old and was one of the first Filipinos here in San Diego, Delfin Labao passed away yesterday after fighting congestive heart failure in August. According to son-in-law, Art Macario, Labao was using all of his life force to wait for the birth of his first Great grandchild, Isaiah Delfin Macario. Labao passed away Tuesday 3:45. The doctors said he just didn't make it this time.
----
Rest in Peace Grandpa Labao. You really made an impact within our church community as well as establishing the Filipino community here in San Diego. All of your stories make me wonder if any of us can amount to the greatness you have left here on Earth, but your example definitely makes me realize not to let our gifts go to waste. You lived a very happy and blessed life and have created a very beautiful family. I'm proud to know that your blood is running in my veins. Rest in peace Grandpa Del, we love you.
----
Delfin Labao leaves behind his wife, Puring Labao, daughter, Ana Marie Cabato, daughter Guadalupe Macario, son-in-law Arthur Macario, daughter Tess Paquette, son-in-law Chuck Paquette, six grandchildren Joyelle Cabato, Nicholas Macario, Gemma Cabato, David Moore, Daniel Macario, Rachael Cabato, and two great grandchildren Alex Moore and Isaiah Delfin Macario.
